France is one of the 51 member countries of the international organisation and is represented by WorldSkills France – COFOM.
Our country has taken part in this unique worldwide competition since its creation by Compagnons du Devoir in the 50’s. Every two years, about forty French youngsters selected to form the French Skills Team represent France on this international stage.
Focused on economical and human progress, the WorldSkills Competitions offer a unique opportunity to compare results, measure but also share in the evolution of competences on a worldwide level.
To allow the WorldSkills Competitions to take place, WorldSkills France – COFOM relies on the support of a huge network : the State, social partners, Regional Councils, professional organisations and consular chambers, businesses, training and teaching centres and thousands of volunteers.
The WorldSkills Competition recognises work, talent and merit. This creates a healthy spirit of competition which causes young competitors to excel. All rally round to turn this occasion into an attractive and stimulating way of communicating to youngsters and their families that skills also represent a way to achieve success and recognition.
